Type of review

I think I thought it was something better. I was shocked when I opened the package and found what appeared to be a piece of tube with a poster on it. It's no different from the homemade one I had in the cage. You can actually buy a poster delivery tube and cut it. Both of my guinea pigs fit now, but when they grow up I'm sure they won't. The yellow litter that was inside I put next to their feed and they used the tub on it instead of digging. As you can see from the photos I had to throw itโ€ฆ

Please throw away the fluff - the tube is funny

The tube may be ok but please see other reviews which also warn of fluffy material inside. This can be dangerous and actually shouldn't be legal. At least look for warnings online. I'm interested in the safety of dye or cardboard, but as far as I can tell, as safe as anything of the sort and probably better than other materials (like cardboard tubes with glue) that can be given to hamsters or gerbils. My crests definitely like tubes for sleeping, chewing, walking. Without the fluff I would have

Favorite small mammal toy

Chewing tubes are my favorite small mammal toy. My dwarf hamsters love the little ones and easily use the fluff for nesting or simply nest in the tunnel. When the fluff gets dirty I can pull them out and they still have fun running through the tunnel. My rats like the middle one because they can rip out the fluff and build their nests and then happily chew on the tunnel or just rest in it. My guinea pigs liked to sleep in down if they could figure it out, which was difficult for them, so Iโ€ฆ

Wish it was longer, definitely wide enough for my fat old rat

When ordering I was worried it wouldn't fit my big male rat. I didn't have to worry, it was huge in diameter. The length is a little shorter than I was hoping or realizing and a little wider than I think my rats care about. The lint in it made a huge mess in their cage and they didn't even like it (didn't use it for nesting. Nothing. Just pushed it out of the tube and pissed on it.) They steal nest paper but wouldn't even use lint. But that's not why I bought it, so there's no particular lossโ€ฆ

Pros
  • good stuff

  • Short instructions
