Easy to assemble but weak and fragile. Unfortunately mine arrived with a crack and some parts were missing. It has design flaws that allow house mice to escape. I used duct tape until I found something better. I have initiated the return process for this item. I tried packing it up for shipping, got frustrated with the mess and then just threw it away. All is well. Now the house mice have a good home.

Pros: -Small and easy to maintain -Water bottle holds plenty of water until next cage cleaning -High visibility cage interior very useful for 6 months. completely chewed up - sides should be higher, nesting material is easily pushed out of cage and needs constant cleaning (I put tape on cage to keep it from making so much mess) I wouldn't recommend this as it doesn't hold up well and is not very durable.

First, never consider this place the main habitat of a hamster, not even a dwarf hamster. This will give them almost no place to live. We bought this as an extension to another pet cage to give our hamster extra space. I thought I'd save about $8 and buy a cheaper one since it was just an add-on, but I regret that. I first bought this as an addition to expand my hamster's cage and space. This is not intended for a single cage, keep that in mind. However. We waited for the second replacement because the first never came. I have these but the water bottle is missing a lid so I can't even use it. So I don't know if it's leaking or not. Would have gotten 4 stars (a discount for a useless water bottle) if it wasn't under $15. Don't even plan on using that water bottle, buy one that attaches to the side of the cage and has a ball bearing to keep it from leaking. I knew before ordering I wouldn't be using a water bottle and as planned I used a cap with a plastic connector to plug the hole. Reason for buying this aviary: As a transport box only, not as a primary habitat for a hamster or mouse. The packaging says gerbils, but gerbils can't be in plastic containers because they would chew them through. Please note this before purchasing.
