Having used one of these basket maker kits myself, two things were clear: they are easy enough to use for our little granddaughters and have worked successfully with results when finished. We bought two for Christmas gifts this year. I'm sure the girls will be delighted. They are great for an eight year old with some adult help.

Once you get the reed or whatever the material is called, it becomes a mess. It is better to tie them in small bundles. It takes me quite a long time to carefully pick up the pieces and put them away until my granddaughter comes next time. I have to say my granddaughter had a lot of fun making baskets and she is seven years old.

Decent set for the price. I did this when I was a Boy Scout and thought it would be a good activity for my young daughter on her first outing. It meets all requirements. The beads were a nice touch; she almost enjoyed playing with beads more than weaving a basket. My only real gripe is that you have to cut the vertical bars from the same tube as the horizontal weave.
