Give 4-5. Four stars because sometimes the plates break my hair so I have to be careful when pulling to straighten them. Five stars because they're hot enough to squeeze my hair. I'm a black girl with short hair so it's important that I get my hair styled :)

This iron heats and heats close to the roots/edges. Grab one of those heat-protective gloves and some heat-protective hair product. It's not too easy and not too difficult. It heats up very, very quickly and the controls, on/off and temperature settings are out of the way - I also like how long these plates are. 1/2 Inch Iron is so hard to find. When I saw RED by Kiss I checked it out and it had all the settings I was looking for. First half inch plates. I have very short curly hair so I need a half inch panel. Anything wider won't lift my short hair. Temperature control was another feature I needed. I want to be able to regulate the temperature. Incredible warmth, smooth gliding in your hands! I bought the regular ones (non-pro version) and they didn't heat up to 450. This version heats up quickly and I only need to heat up to 300.

the straightener is very professional, for example it works great on my daughter's natural hair and is perfect for mine (which is partially relaxed)! Smooth and easy to use with excellent temperature control without frizz.

Works GREAT on short short hair like mine! I recently went from medium to short and my 1" was too wide. When using you shouldn't pinch your ears and neck. lol

Amazingly thin flat iron. Not only fantastic for short hair, but also great for short hair. I have replaced my normal curling iron with this straightener when I style not only children's hair but also the hair of older generations. Heats up very quickly and switches off after about 2 hours. as a security feature.

Heats up quickly and is easy to use. However, unlike my Japanese straightener, this Kiss straightener burned and tangled my hair. I have very thick, coarse hair. So if you have fine hair I would consider the heat settings. You must be careful and have a dexterous hand with this iron.

DO NOT buy this iron. I had them less than a year when it just never got warm again. This was of course after the return window had closed. They have worked well up to this point. But who wants to pay €40-50 every 6-8 months. It's not worth it. My unnamed iron lasted several years before the plate burned out. Invest your $50 in buying the best iron.
