🔪 White KitchenAid Food Grinder Attachment Accessory - One Size Review

Shaft broken after 3rd use. I read other reviews talking about this problem and thought they must have overused the meat grinder to break the shaft, well I did nothing but grind the meat and it broke so it did was useless.

I use it mainly for shredding cooked chicken and I alternately add boiled eggs, onions, peppers and celery to make a chicken salad. It's very easy to clean. Since some parts cannot be washed in the dishwasher, I wash everything by hand. I actually think there's less of a problem washing parts by hand anyway. I left the box to store the pieces between uses. This is a great accessory.

We had one about 10 years ago and used it a lot. Eventually it broke and we bought it as a replacement. The change in quality was clearly visible. It weighs 1/2 times less. The plastic is thin. The old one had an o-ring on the back of the meat grinder screw to keep the meat juices from escaping, it doesn't. In general, the quality and assembly is much worse than it was. Product worked as advertised the first two uses, but on the third use (a few days between each use and cleaning) the grinding screw stopped turning even though my kitchen mixer worked great. This allowed the grinder to only be used 2 times: the first was a small test and the second was 1lb beef at a slightly chilled level. It's unacceptable that I could only really use this product, which costs nearly $70 (US$69.87), once, especially with a product from a reputable company like yours.

This grinder does everything the manufacturer promises and is as easy to clean as any other grinder I've used. A shortcoming: About two tablespoons of meat remain in the meat grinder, not ground, if the minced meat no longer comes out of the meat grinder. Also note that as the meat grinder is attached to the top of the Kitchenaid mixer, place the meat in the meat grinder more than 20 inches above the surface that the mixer sits on.
