Very useful in the kitchen

This is very useful for determining the internal temperature of the meat to ensure it is at a safe serving temperature and is not overcooked. The thermometer was immediately ready for use and even had an additional battery. Out of the box he could use it and it worked fine. This replaces the old-fashioned analog thermometer that required you to wait for the reading to rise to a "range" where the temperature was safe. Great instant thermometer at a great price!

I've been looking for a cooking thermometer for several months. The ones I looked at were so expensive I kept putting them off. I decided to try this one and I'm so glad I did. It has a built in magnet so I can keep it handy next to the microwave. I think the battery lasts a long time as it only turns on when you take the probe out and turns off immediately when you put the probe back in or a minute after it was left open. Doesn't work and definitely not worth the money!

Update: I've had it for a few months now. It is not calibrated and does not provide accurate or even remotely accurate temperature readings. I've tried calibrating it many times using the ice bath method, the results are the same. Still reads high. The display keeps rotating so the display is right side up for a second and then flips upside down without me moving. The display also rotates constantly and measures the temperature of the food. Definitely not waterproof, according to the replacement seller's instructions (note the plural of replacement)

Supplier response may be quick but not as advertised. While replacing my 2x they told me I would not get another replacement. The second one I received quickly became cloudy and unreadable. I also found water in the battery compartment. Although they were advertised as waterproof, their instructions told me not to put them in the dishwasher and not to be submerged in water (never held under a faucet). So, according to their own instructions, they say it's not waterproof. I've had the third one…
