🔨 Klein Tools 66385 Steel Scratch Awl: Durable 3-1/2-Inch Tool for Precise Marking Review

The 3 1/2" is just a pin at the bottom, overall it's more like a 7 1/2. Looks like a quality fake but not what I was looking for.

No cheap metal here. You have all Klein products for at least ten years, and whoever steals them has them for another ten years. Maybe they lose it. I do not know.

This is the real deal. Strong steel. Our family has been using Klein tongs for over 80 years. No better pliers so I knew this awl would be well made. It has weight and can withstand abuse. Not for precise starting blocks. Use this to store your small awl for these.

That's one heck of a big creepy steel spike from Klein, definitely well done. Remember the total length is 7 inches. 3-1/2" refers to the end of the cleat - the distance from the tip to the raised ridge/ring about mid-length.

This is a quality tool. Ideal for punching all materials. You can even mark the metal, but I wouldn't recommend that because it dulls the super-sharp tip. Also ideal for leather work. I work as an electrician and use it for everything from marking anchor points in drywall to punching out a new belt loop.
