Klipsch R 14S Surround Pair Black Review

Excellent speakers. When mounting, remember to match the mounting hole on the back of the speaker. I had to screw in the adapter to make it work with the ceiling mount I was using. The lid is not removable unlike my other Klipsch speakers, but I still prefer the lids.

Works great. I would have expected better sound from Klipsch. I understand they're in the back, but when I first tested them on the front channels, they didn't sound as clear as I expected. Nothing like the rp8 I bought and wasn't expecting it, but it's definitely nothing special.

Just installed them last night. They complement my 7.1 theater system. I set them as left and right surround positions, not behind. In fact, they are at the level of the listening point. Well built and great sound. I mounted them at ceiling level but tilted down at a 30 degree angle. It would probably be better to install them about 4 feet off the ground.

I bought these speakers as true surround speakers, but they sounded so good as down-firing speakers for my max setup that I bought two more to expand my setup to complete. No need to buy more expensive ones (240?). The sound is perfect. Even my wife has commented on how cool the movie sounds and how it completely envelops us... And she usually doesn't care.

I have several Klipsch speakers (along with my Sonos and POLK collection). I have to admit that I was very disappointed when I heard the sound quality (at all frequencies and volumes) when I first connected it to my amp and preamp. Now I understand why the price of this product has dropped so much. I will revisit the POLK website and try to find something that offers the best quality for the price.

Since the new model came out they are finally half the price they used to be. They represent excellent value for money. They are easy to put on and look good. They have dual woofers and a center tweeter as per the pictures I saw online (the grille is not removable) so they work perfectly as side wall speakers. I don't have the ability to install them in this configuration so they are currently rear/corner speakers as if they were in a 5.1 configuration. I'm sure you can buy a better surround…

I bought these speakers almost 2 years ago as rear speakers for $166 to finish my new 5.1 Klipsch reference line. I've only had bookshelf speakers for surround sound in the past, so I love how this design spreads the sound for a wider soundstage. Since my section is on the back wall of my home theater, it helps not to have that kind of directional surround sound. Found in Amazon Warehouse (Used) for $130/pair! Would pay full price because these are great speakers for surround back. I was looking for something less tall and wider for my space and this fitted perfectly. I like that they are curved and the sound isn't super directional. When I watch movies with DD soundtracks, the room is full of effects and music, but it's very crowded and seems to come from everywhere as it should.
