Just what a doctor needs for work

I built an NVR cabinet with a rackmount UPS and never thought I would need more outlets. As the system grew and I needed more outlets, I wanted to keep everything organized and not have the extension cord floating around. It did the job for a good price and installed on the rails with no problems. I installed it at the top of the back of the closet to free up space, but the front will be the same. Normally I would place below, but in this case it would be better above. The flat black bezel…

Looks good and works pretty well. I have ordered a second one. :)

After getting another idea to use, I ordered another one. Delivery could be faster but is not critical and not related to the device. The device itself is far ahead of the usual white soap extenders from the local store without any protection whatsoever. I plan to fix a second one under my main desktop to plug in devices that need to be unplugged when I'm away so I don't have to unplug them every time. Should be very useful and convenient.

Is the device not grounded?

I rotated the mounting tabs 180 degrees to fit under the tool cart and my circuit tester shows an open ground. What's weird is that when I remove the mounting tab from the side of the cable, it shows that the circuit is properly connected. Not sure if this is a security issue or not but wanted buyers to know if it is. I also noticed that the internal finish is lacking (pieces of solder fell out of the block when I removed the mounting tab, some connections were crimped and soldered).

Cons
  • Very Expensive
