Defective pump - my new review

Worked fine the first time. Just started it up again and gas was blowing out the exhaust tube. Crankcase is full of gas, no oil in it now. Diaphragm must of had a hole in it. Waste of money.

Pros
  • good replacement
Cons
  • Pump made of plastic. Original is metal

Still was plastic seems to work well

Plastic but better style than previous one, it had screws with nuts embedded in one side not just self tapping ones that looked like wood screws. A couple bucks more but worth it.

Pros
  • Great
Cons
  • leakes fuel into crankcase

Check valve rattling inside pump

Check valve was loose inside pump. Not a serviceable part so pump was worthless. Fittings provided did not match description or pic like other reviewers have said. No straight fitting which is the one of the four you Must have. Used the old one but the pump was never going to work once I saw the check valve was never seated during manufacture. So now I have to drive to a UPS store or ebay locker to return it? More time wasted. Oh well

Pros
  • Good product and great price
Cons
  • The pump was defective. The fuel leaked through the pump diaphragm into the crankas. Returned pump.

Get what you pay for

I had to use the actuator from the original as the one that came with it didn’t engage the pump. The installation of the hose ends is kind of weird. I don’t think anyone would ever figure that out on their own without searching for what the giant snap ring is supposed to do. It couldn’t hurt to throw in some instructions.I would’ve gladly paid for OEM, but they’re obsolete.

Pros
  • Great product
Cons
  • The Kohler K241, K301, K321, K341 Engine Fuel Pump 47 559 11-S Gravely 38789 is known for being unreliable and prone to failure, which can result in costly engine repairs

Lasted less than 6 months.

Bought this 10 moths ago as I knew the original was going bad. Installed it less than 6 months ago and it died today with the lawn tractor at the back of my property. Your product left me stranded.

Pros
  • Great value
Cons
  • Pump leaked upon installation.

Don't buy poor quality.

Poor quality. Pump fit Kohler engine only worked 1 time. I guess you get what you pay for since Kohler fuel pump is 185.00.

Pros
  • Worked great! I install this on my 1980 JD 314 tractor with a 14hp Kohler engine
Cons
  • The pump i recieved did not work.

Installed on a John Deere 214. The pump I received flows the opposite direction from the original pump. I was replacing fuel lines at the same time, so no big deal. If you plan on reusing stock fuel lines, they are too short to install in the opposite configuration. Just a heads up. I've mowed once with it. Seems to be working as intended.

Pros
  • Fast delivery looks to be a good replacement for original
Cons
  • The fuel pump can be difficult to find, as it is not compatible with all equipment models and may require specific components for installation, making it an impractical choice for those who value time and convenience

I installed it on my wheel horse kohler K301. seemed to work fine the first time we cut grass The 2nd time we wanted to mow the after we started to cut the engine threw out oil onto the exhaust and started to smoke My wife was running it and shut it down immediately. Found that the fuel pump had leaked fuel into the crankcase. I still had my old pump I pulled the new one and drained the oil. installed the old pump filled with new oil. Hoping we did not damage the engine Notifiedf ebay and they…

Pros
  • The pump fit perfectly and worked like a charm. My 1971 M371 Bobcat in in the dirt again!
Cons
  • Pump Failed in less than 6 hours of operation and started leaking gasoline into the crankcase .....

Working great: my feedback

Replaces original aluminum pump, it’s not as beefy though. Hopefully it will last 45 years like the old one Works like it should.

Pros
  • Works like it should
Cons
  • Some users have reported that the fuel pump is noisy and disruptive, which is particularly problematic for those who use their equipment in residential areas
