In the manual under the bagel section it says to select the toast program setting, pull the lever down and then press the bagel button. Mine doesn't work like that. You hit the bagel button FIRST. I almost got it back. Maybe you can set up a calculator for them too? Access to Wi-Fi and radio is a must.

! It's an exchange! The toasts are very uneven - the bottom and top of the slices are very different. Bagels are also very different. Don't buy a digital toaster! There is no fine tuning! You get 1, 2 or 3 etc. with nothing in between. Be careful! I grew up with Krups! We have never had such a bad toaster.

Stunned by the 5 star reviews because this is the worst toaster I have ever owned. One side of the toast is always much darker than the other. I have changed toasters twice and all three toasters work the same. After a few months the toast got lighter and lighter at the same setting, what used to require a value of 1 or 2 now requires a value of 3 or 4.

Pleased with the texture of the toast on both sides of the bread (see photo). The slot width is slightly smaller at about 5.25 inches, for home baked bread I would prefer something around 7 inches. (I don't want a very long toaster version.) Tried another toaster, it gave very inconsistent results and will be returning; If you buy a toaster, expect to return one or more until you get one that works well.

I love this toaster. On my counter it's a little bigger than I expected but looks very sleek and clean. Fry evenly. The settings are easy to understand and configure. I am incredibly happy with this purchase. The only downside to this toaster is that it gets very hot on the outside. There needs to be better insulation to prevent burns from touching the toaster from the outside.

In general the toaster works well and heats up quickly. There are multiple heat settings and the cancel button makes it easy to stop the cooking process if you need to for any reason. After 5 months of use, we kept noticing crumbs on the counter or wherever we kept the toaster. There are holes on the bottom to allow crumbs to pass through the removable tray underneath. It's had a good run, but we're now looking at a new toaster.

Unlike older analog toasters, you can't adjust the temperature until you've set it to your liking. Instead, use the button to select a fixed heat value. Pressing the Bagel option will add 20 seconds to the timer and only heat the inside of the bagel. There are two buttons that allow you to save the user's selection. Allows you to easily return to individual settings with just one button.

We used a Krup toaster for years and when our old one died (after 15 years) we found this one. It has a great visual display and the dual memory settings are perfect for this married couple. She likes her toast to be crispy and he likes it lightly toasted. The easy memory setting makes it easy to make toast at the touch of a button, and that's it; it also keeps the previous setting used for simplicity. We can definitely recommend this toaster.

I think the crumb slot is an advantage of this device. I don't know why most toaster ovens have such narrow crumb slots that after using English muffins and bagels fill with crumbling crumbs that can ignite and cause smoke. Not that it's a fire hazard, more of a smoke problem. This toaster has plenty of room for loose pieces of bread that can fall into the crumb tray. One complaint is that it's terribly light.
