Good for ITS INTENDED use

It's light and long enough to go from the lock to the steering wheel on my 1980's sprained muscle. If you use it for that purpose, it works great. IMHO it's useless if you're trying to backup something with it.

Pros
  • Great price
Cons
  • Secret

Mandatory for Disk Lock users.

I use it for my brake disc lock all the time when I go on motorbike rides. This reminds me that I put a disc lock on my front wheel. A must have for anyone with a disc lock as it is a small motorcycle insurance policy. I've heard of people forgetting they had the disc lock on, going about their normal routine of starting the bike, pedaling forward, and then dropping the bike because the disc lock was brushing against their fork. OH!

Pros
  • Ideal for outdoor activities
Cons
  • Only available in white

That's actually a good chunk. Tightly twisted and high quality

Yes, it's a coiled cord. That's actually a good chunk. They are tightly wrapped and of good quality so I don't think they will loosen over time making them awkward to store on the bike. It's not big at all, but I wish it was a little smaller since my Buell doesn't have storage space. The orange is definitely "visible" as long as I'm using it, I have no excuse for trying to drive away with the drive lock on, so it's a good buy.

Pros
  • Great for me

Hooray, bright orange cable apparatus!

There is not much to say about that. It's basically just a springy metal cable wrapped in bright orange vinyl that (hopefully) keeps you from flying away with a rotor lock installed on your bike. I have one in front to the front brake lever and the other on the rear brake disc to the back seat loop. Lightweight, fits easily in a jacket pocket (or bike compartment), simple and effective. Wow!

Pros
  • One year trial period
Cons
  • unreliable

I will no longer accidentally try to drive with the lock on!

I bought a floppy lock to fit my V-strom when I had to leave it in a place where I was afraid of theft. The first time I tried driving it with a lock, I quickly realized I needed a reminder cord. The cable works great and is clearly visible. I doubt I'll ever make that mistake again. It easily reaches from the disc to the handlebars on the V-strom, which is a big bike so should be long enough for sport bikes and cruisers.

Pros
  • Easy to read control panel
Cons
  • No

A must if you use Disk Lock

One of the best inventions the motorcycle lock industry has ever made (bravo kryptonite!). Absolutely essential if you use any type of hard drive lock. You can forget your bike has a lock and if you start moving you will at best fall and at worst ruin your very expensive front brakes. A great visual reminder but also a great visual deterrent for thieves. I've been using these cables for almost thirty years. Unfortunately, they invented the cord AFTER they invented the disc lock, so in my day I…

Great lightweight bike lock

Misuse as a lightweight bike lock: Compact; Cables with plastic protection and crimped terminals with plastic protection to avoid scratching my bike; small enough to fit unobtrusively in my pocket or backpack, along with a small padlock; Self-winding, so no problem for storage. I even like the color orange as this type of lock is more about deterring an accidental casual theft than defeating a determined criminal, so it's good to make it visible. This fills in the bike security version that "I…

Excellent disc lock cable

This disc lock cable is an absolute must when using a disc lock on a motorcycle - it reminds you that the lock is in place and prevents you from damaging the front brake caliper. Brake lines, disc brake, etc. if you try to start with the disc lock installed. Not to mention the potential damage to yourself (the bike falls on you or you go over the bars) and certainly not embarrassing doing that very stupid thing in front of friends or other spectators. I always keep my reminder cable attached to

Pros
  • Lots of positive vibes
