These lights are great. It is important to know. The best way to avoid tearing the paper is to make sure you are holding the top and bottom RINGS and not the paper to stretch it. Then, as you insert the wire frame, hold the top ring on the light and GENTLY but firmly push the frame down through the light and insert the frame tabs into the top wire holes. Voila! Nervous open lantern :)

I used them to make them look like balloons and bring some light inside. You looked amazing! I like that they come in different sizes. Easy to assemble and durable. Just remember to bend the wire on the smaller ones when assembling. I bought ribbons and other things to decorate them but I liked that they just looked white so I decided not to cover them up.

Great product for the price! They were just a little difficult to put together. We tinkered around until we figured it out. Even then, the lights still worked and were structurally sound. To be honest I'm not very good with paper lanterns or putting them together. However, these lamps had very clear instructions and I had few problems assembling, transporting and using them. The metal frames holding these baddies open were a bit too big for small parts, which resulted in me micro-cracking the lanterns when trying to attach the frames.
