Not a Muslin band. nylon fraying out of the box

Overall I am happy with the product. However I intentionally bought this not because the description said that the band was made from Muslim. It is not made of Muslim it is made of nylon which phrase easily. I know this because the net we previously had a frayed and got a hole in it. So I was disappointed to see that I have just purchased the exact same thing that I had. overall I am happy with the product. However I intentionally bought this net because the description said that the band was…

Pros
  • Simple and strong.
Cons
  • The net is not durable enough for repeated use

Good for catching chickens

I bought this net for catching the occasional chickens, and I have to recommend this butterfly net that made catching my rooster yesterday, soooo much quicker and easier. The netting is thinner and better for butterflies and insects, because chicken claws can snag the material. But for catching an occasional chicken, I think it should hold up pretty well. I like the telescoping pole which makes it easier to store in my shed until needed.

Pros
  • Light weight, quick. Net material is durable. Recommending it to clients.
Cons
  • The netting material snags easily and can get tangled up

Quick catching invader > nasty little bat be gone! =)

My crazy idea worked! After two times this year having a nasty little bat infiltrate my home to interrupt my sleep at, of course, 2am, I wondered if a big butterfly net might help me get back to sleep faster. Figuring out how to eliminate a creepy bugger while controlling the deepest of my primal fears, then chasing it around for a few hours to tire it out so it stays still long enough for me to figure out how to catch it gets old real quick when I have to be up early for work. Today I got home

Pros
  • Bird net Easy to carry, easy storage. Quick assembly.
Cons
  • The handle is not sturdy enough to withstand heavy use

Good quality and has multiple uses.

This net has a large ring and a long net. I'm sure it would be great for catching butterflies but after waking up in the middle of the night 3 times last week I bought it to catch bats. It looks like it would be long enough to not have to get too close and the net is big enough to safely catch it so it couldn't get out but won't harm it either. I haven't seen any since so the word must be out in batville to stay away now that we have it. I guess they recommend it too.

Pros
  • The net is also ideal for catching bees and wasps without getting stung
Cons
  • The netting material is too stiff, making it difficult to manipulate

This is a large butterfly net with a fine mesh.

I needed a bigger net to capture an occasional bat loose in the house. Our other butterfly nets were too small to catch it on the fly, and it got hopelessly tangled in my landing net. This will be much more humane. This is a sturdy item, easy to assemble -- and it begs me to study butterflies!

Pros
  • The net is perfect for scientific research projects that involve studying insects
Cons
  • The net is not suitable for catching insects at night

GREAT FOR SAVING BIRDS

We ordered this to help wrangle our chickens and guineas when they need to be caught for care, but have actually only used it to rescue a hummingbird and 2 other songbirds when they flew inside our large chicken coop and couldn't figure out how to get out. Great, sturdy net!

Pros
  • Just as expected
Cons
  • The net is not designed for catching birds

Works great for my opinion

This net worked exactly like we hoped it would. The long handle and deep net are perfect for our needs. We have been inundated with carpenter/borer bees that created dozens of wholes in our deck. So far I have trapped 9 and still have more to go. We weren’t successful trying anything else.

Pros
  • Item worked as expected
Cons
  • The 14" ring is too small to effectively capture larger insects

my wife has caught 20+ white cabbage butterflies!

We bought this because we were seeing white cabbage butterflies in the yard/garden. I chased a few around the yard and "blah", didn't catch one (and I almost fell down from exhaustion). My wife (she is amazing), has decimated the group. catching over 20. she has a technique that she won't tell me about, but a flick, flick, flick with her wrist and she can catch the little buggers! We are glad we purchased this butterfly net to protect our cabbage, cauliflower, broccoli and brussels sprouts.

Pros
  • The net is affordable and provides good value for the price
Cons
  • The handle is not comfortable to grip, causing hand cramps during use

Really like this net.

I love this butterfly net and have now bought four of them. The only reason I need to buy more is that if the joint between the butterfly net and the handle is hit, it snaps. Are use it to swoop through the barn and catch flies, and sometimes Are use it to catch a wayward chicken. 😂 It holds both very well.

Pros
  • The extendable handle provides versatility in reaching different heights
Cons
  • The net does not come with a carrying case, making it difficult to transport

Nice butterfly net but has several glitches

The same phrase and so their strings hanging down looks like it's so well enough that the strings are an issue. Also the screw top for the net loosens as you use it. Since it's plastic I wonder when it won't hold it all 🤔 otherwise it is a nice net telescoping is a fine feature. (I've only used it 2 days and I already have a little hole I'll have to sew)

Pros
  • They work catching those pesky flies and midges.
Cons
  • The handle is prone to breaking easily

Great sturdy insect net!

This butterfly net isn't just for butterflies! It catches grasshoppers, as well! Deep net that you can fold over to keep your catch in the net. I have zero grasshoppers in my yard, because the chickens love them! I occasionally catch the grasshoppers for them as a treat. Drive the mule and hang the net over the side. The grasshoppers jump right in! Hahaha! My revenge for many damage plants!

Pros
  • Science Kits & Toys
Cons
  • The net is not suitable for catching delicate insects such as butterflies

Easy Peasy set-up! :^)

Product was super easy assembly, arrived on time and is of good quality. I actually use it to catch my unruly miss behaving parakeets when I want them in their cage. The 16" hoop is way better that the first net I bought that had an 11" hoop. PS - The birds aren't too particularly happy with this "catch method!"

Pros
  • The net can be used to capture larger insects such as grasshoppers and dragonflies
Cons
  • The handle is not lightweight, making it difficult to hold for extended periods

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Thick handle on my review.

Great net for an older kid with a bigger hand but the handle is so well made that it would be too hard for my 6-year-old granddaughter to grasp. But I'm handy enough to have replaced it with a lighter dowel and she loves it.

Pros
  • The net is backed by a reliable and trustworthy brand name in the industry
Cons
  • The handle is not bendable, making it difficult to use in tight spaces

An odd form of relief.

I live in L.A. and have had fly problems on occasion over the recent years. I don't like killing any living creatures so instead of killing them i run around shooing them out the door or window. It takes a lot of effort to say the least. I bought this wonderful net so I can simply catch them and release them outside. It makes it very simple and even fun.

Pros
  • Very light. Easy to handle.
Cons
  • The net is difficult to clean after use

Sturdy and good price

Used these on a collecting trip to Belize. Was very happy they stood up to heavy use in brambles and did not tear when I hit unseen barbed wire!

Pros
  • The net is durable enough to withstand repeated use
Cons
  • The handle does not provide a secure grip, making it difficult to control the net

Do no harm - my new review

It's good Karma! I don't use it to catch and pin insects. A net like this is great for helping creatures without killing them. I've been in situations where bats and birds are stuck in buildings, so I though this might be handy. So far, it's great for catching flying insects like flies, crane flies, moths inside the house to put outside.

Pros
  • The net is effective for gardening purposes, such as removing pesky caterpillars from plants
Cons
  • The net is not suitable for catching insects in windy conditions

Great butterfly net, very sturdy yet lightweight

this is a very durable, sturdy, not the flimsy product most stores sell. I am very impressed with it ability to telescope out, yet fold up very compact. As a professional biologist I would highly recommend this net to anyone from a youth amateur to a seasoned professional!

Pros
  • The net is ideal for those who want to learn more about the insects in their area
Cons
  • The net does not come with a warranty, making it difficult to get a replacement if it breaks

Revainrating 5 out of 5

This is a large net designed for larger invertebrates .

The structure of the net is very well thought out .It is telescopic and the net it self will fold as there is a joint in the aluminum, this makes transporting it very easy in a pack. The material that the net is composed of is a type of solid white cotton and is very durable . This makes it ideal for catching large bugs , butterflies ,frogs , ect and running thru a field drawing thru it to see what’s happening. The only draw back would be for small butterflies as it is hard to see them thru the…

Pros
  • The net is perfect for those who enjoy outdoor activities such as camping and hiking
Cons
  • The netting material is not flexible, causing it to become damaged easily

TOXIC SMELL! DO NOT PURCHASE

Very strong toxic smell. Do not purchase, especially if children are going to use it.Purchased as a Christmas present for my husband, who often needs to rescue birds who fly into our kitchen and are trapped in the skylights. After three days of airing out, the handle still smelled so toxic that my husband said he didn't even want to touch it.We're throwing it out. Advise you seek another brand and avoid exposing yourself to the strong stink and potentially harmful chemicals off-gassing from it.

Pros
  • The net is made from environmentally-friendly materials
Cons
  • The handle is not detachable, making it difficult to store

Awesome nets, but we have to replace them each season

Great size for explorer children and adults. #wildandfree Only down side is that they are not quite as durable as they are robust. The size would suggest they were a little more durable.

Pros
  • The net can be customized with different handle colors for easy identification
Cons
  • The net is not suitable for catching spiders
