It really worked after trying almost everything else. Descaling the bowl took about 15 minutes and was pretty easy to do. Now it looks like a brand new toilet and had a thick layer of scale from the very hard water from the well. The finish is very shiny so that the porcelain glaze is not attacked. I have even resorted to strong acid solutions to no avail before attempting this.

We have incredibly hard water in our area and it has little to no effect on toilet stains or bath foam. After a few minutes of scrubbing stubborn stains in the toilet, the seal started to wear out and parts of it fell off (see photo). If you buy this I recommend you save some money and just buy the pads. The handle got in the way quite a bit and it would have been easier to clean the bowl without it - the pad doesn't fit the curved surface as it's mounted on a rigid handheld device.
