Description of π― Lee Precision Quick Trim Die: Streamline Your Reloading Process with Speed and Precision
Die Size: Standard 7/8 in-14 threaded die. Requires Shell holder. Includes Plastic Die Box. Die is made to hold brass cases securely while the cutter (sold separately) is turned ensuring that case mouths are cut square. Die Caliber: 40 Smith and Wesson.
The whole quick cut system works fairly well, but it's not an accurate tool. Even the quick cut instructions state that there is a .60 inch "stack" variation of all the pieces that fit together. For .40 S&W I don't care because I only load plinker ammo. My high accuracy is .22-250 ammo. I wouldn't use it.
I love these quick cut dies! Also have and use them on my .380 and .223/5.56 cases. Saves so much time trimming suitcases, easy to set up and use, and they're inexpensive! Just a word of warning, if you're interested in this, make sure you have or buy a Lee Deluxe Quick Trim Pen (sold separately). I didn't have this problem; but I saw others who didn't understand.
Absolutely worth every penny, once this die is set it has a tolerance of 0.002 regardless of branding. I've had headspace issues with my G23, down to slight bumps and battery drain. Lee recommends a .840 trim length, but to preserve brass life I set mine to .845 and my problems are gone. This is a great product and my 223 sensor gave me the same results while waiting for my 9mm sensor to trim that too. Another fantastic five star Lee product for all day use.
