I found the material almost like silicone but it's more of a hard plastic which makes folding less smooth than most silicone folding devices. The magnet works well but only fits in microwaves with smooth and flat lids to keep it in place.

Everything was deformed. It was nothing like the picture. Doesn't work properly. Looks like it melted or something. I do not know. I am disappointed that this was sent in such poor quality. I tried unfolding it to show you but it doesn't fit. Sorry for writing a bad review but thought it would be helpful.

The cover arrived defective, one of the magnets had already fallen off upon delivery. I thought I could glue it back, but another magnet fell off while testing in the microwave. It's also very difficult to flatten and stretch back as the plastic is too stiff to fold. I will return the product.

We bought this as a housewarming gift for our son and his girlfriend. They loved our magnetic microwave splash cover so we thought we'd give them one for their new home.
