My kids love this toy

My kids love this toy. I don't know what it is but they love it. My youngest is a screamer. If you put him in the car, he cannot (cannot) be comforted. No amount of snacks will help. But he will play with this toy for about fifteen minutes before going crazy again. At home, my two children fight over her.

Pros
  • Perfect for outdoor activities
Cons
  • I don't remember but there was something

Durable fun toy for toddlers

I bought this for my eldest daughter when she was 1 year old. I'm not usually a fan of loudly lit toys, but both my daughters loved these toys when they were toddlers. It really helped them practice shape recognition, the tools really work with screws and nails which helped them develop fine motor skills and they enjoyed watching the ball disappear. They liked the songs and they danced together. I would say it was interesting from about 9 months to 3.5 years.

Pros
  • Cool product
Cons
  • Reliable

Fun at 7 months with early development and activity toys

Great toy! It is well made and my daughter loves it. At 7 months I thought it might be a slight developmental delay but she responded immediately to colors and sounds and within 3-4 play sessions began working with a saw and drill. She mostly does this while chewing on the tools, but she can also pull out the drawer and spill the contents, which apparently is a lot of fun. It will grow into other functions over time, so I consider it a durable commodity, like children's toys.

Pros
  • Easy to install
Cons
  • Nothing here

Great gift for little ones

The toy itself is quite cute. The quality is good and very creative. Different sounds and songs are good. Great for kids who love sounds. The number pad on the front speaks any number when you put the plastic piece on, and it's definitely an Asian-accented voice. Not bad by any means, just a bit weird to listen to. Also, the toy is smaller than I expected. I am giving it to a one year old and he is a bit small for his size so I think it fits him well.

Pros
  • Elegant design

partially defective electronics; Less than expected

This product looked exciting, but we were disappointed for two reasons. First, it only worked partially - some of the light and sound effects (on the drill, saw, and letterforms) only worked occasionally - usually after you pressed the power button a few times. Sounds like an electronic fault/defect. The second disappointment for us was that it was a bit smaller than we expected - not drastically but due to the size (main bench and parts/tools) it does seem a bit small to our 18 month old…

Pros
  • Consistent test results
Cons
  • There are quirks

A lot is made in China

The good things first: Lots of bells and whistles. The saw and drill will continue to make sounds if you hold them down while other toys stop. Nails also make noise when pressed when you press them again. It's also very light. However, there are a few things that bother me about it, the bad: The toy is made in China (okay, yes), but it sounds like it. When he says "four" he says "foh" and when he says "two" he says "tuh" and. When he talks about shapes he says triangle, heart, square and then…

He likes that the ball makes noise when he drops it.

As soon as my 15 month old son saw this he fired up and started playing with it. It takes half an hour! He likes that the ball makes noise when he drops it in the hole. He's still struggling with the forms and frustrated that he can't get them to work properly. Instead of getting upset, he sends her down the same hole the ball hits. He knew exactly what to do with a screwdriver and wrench, although his dexterity was not yet high enough to turn them properly. He was clearly watching his father…

Pros
  • Easy to read control panel
Cons
  • Very expensive

Can there be a better educational toy?

Wow. Like other reviewers, one of the best toys we've bought. Still going strong after 2 boys and their cousins have been playing with it for more than 2 years. Of course he can mispronounce some words (English) but that no doubt got my senior on that little engineering streak he's had for a while now. He is obsessed with tools. It doesn't help that Dad has a big shiny snap-on tool box with $15,000 worth of tools in the garage. Now he wants to see what they're all doing. Imagine a…
