Mostly good enough.

I have this clamp and also several Manfrotto Super clamps. This clamp is good enough 99% of the time. I can really see the difference in quality between the two, Manfrotto is better in almost every way. Manfrotto clamps are what I use to mount my expensive flash heads or heavier modifiers, I trust them more, it's that simple. But for almost everything else, I'd love to use these soda clips. They are good enough but not as good as the Manfrotto clamps.

Cons
  • Some small things

Durable clip. Although I've seen some reviews pointing to breakage, this clip seems solid and durable. I clamped it over my workbench at 2" x 6" (true width 1 3/4") and was unable to make full face clamp contact with the beam due to an obstruction on the beam (smaller jaw at 3/4 depth against the tree .) However, he had a strong grip and if I had straddled them both like that I could pull them up, I'm not sure if Manfrotto is stronger but I can do it. LimoStudio.

Good product. I give it 4 starts because .

Great product. I give 4 points because the material doesn't forgive crass things. It comes off easily and has no end point so my screw went all the way through without me noticing. The screw wasn't sharp or anything, it just went all the way through the hole and started pushing the grip tape up from the inside. I was able to fix it fairly easily but the screws aren't tightening so I attached it to the battery and it spins. It's larger than I thought it would be, but in fact the clamp is strong…

4 times bigger and stronger than I thought and worth the money!

Worth the money! I was expecting a small cheap umbrella clip, but instead I got a strong, sturdy clip. I can use it for many things including camera lighting for pretty much anything I need. Whoever designed it did a great job! At first I was worried I wouldn't be able to tighten it because something was in the way, but they also included one of those pull mechanisms so it doesn't get in the way when you turn. Apologies for the horrible description of the retractable mechanism, but it's the…

You get what you pay for but watch out for the smell!

They're just "normal" I bought these along with three other Manfrotto super clamps (to save some money) but you can see the difference. The cast iron is less finished than that of the Manfrotto, it's rough and not nearly as clean. The parts that make it up are also not as "good" as the others I have. The worst thing about them is that THEY SMELL TERRIBLE! They have that really bad fuel smell that just doesn't seem to want to go away. The bag I keep them in with all the other stuff even has this

Doesn't work, get used to a Manfrotto clamp

This clamp is very similar to a Manfrotto clamp. Except for the cleaning surfaces, which are made of soft rubber, the pen doesn't have a hex on one side like a Manfrotto. Because of this, this black only shows up when the surface isn't exactly 1 to 1 1/4 inches flat. Thinner or wider - and does not last. On the uneven bars, for which it is mainly intended, it does not hold at all, even with the weight of a Manfrotto hand without a camera. It just keeps sliding. In the case of the Manfrotto…

A few bucks saved. Annoying every time you use it.

I have quite a few Manfrotto clamps and I bought four of them because they seemed quite similar. But the devil is in the details. - The Manfrotto attachment handle will not hit other items including the second handle when you use them to connect two pipes because the Manfrotto handle is shorter. - The small counter wing nut can also not work properly when you use these clips because they bump into each other. - Either the spring that pushes the clip out or the friction on the moving part of the
