I bought this converter to connect an old DVD player to a new TV that didn't have component inputs. The video is displayed encrypted. I sent it back and the seller quickly refunded the money.

It converted all component signals to HDMI 1080p. Unfortunately, everything is encrypted, like movies over cable. With unencrypted images, the image was not played back smoothly. I found it useless. Instead I will use the 480i component format. By the way, you can use any A/V input selector to switch from one source to another; You just have to remember which fork is green and which is blue; red is red. I used to use ties for bread bags.
