Poor quality brake tools

Bought because of the Lisle brand and previous reputation for quality. Unfortunately, this is a product that typifies today's drive for cost reduction. The cone that controls shoulder splay is cheap plastic. This, combined with using a rubber O-ring as a tension spring, causes uneven pressure on the hands. Also, in the first 30 seconds of using it, one of the bricks fell out of my hand. I would happily pay double if I could find a well made honing cylinder!

  • Alright!

  • So far so good

A must for us with hard water and Moen shower valves.

This is a great Moen shower valve wiper. I know some people use rolled up sandpaper to clean the valve body. . Once the valve kit is sanded and installed, this Moen shower valve works just as easily as a new one and the new kit will last a lot longer. It is highly recommended to use Moen or other shower valves when installing new sets. Just the right size for shower valves.

Pros
  • Great price
Cons
  • Some trouble

Ideal for work.

This tool works as intended. I have read many complaints about this type of honing machine and everything I have ever bought has worked great. These tools are NOT drills, they are designed to break the glaze in a cylinder or remove minor surface rust. Too many people seem to think these things can replace a $15,000 drill press and expect them to remove .001 or more (they aren't designed to remove material!) or that rocks aren't rocks and are brittle by definition. If you hit them or drop tools,

Works great with wheel brake cylinders

I bought this because I had too many bad experiences with someone else's wheel brake cylinders. Nowadays, even the most famous vendors cannot be trusted. Specifically I had 3 sets of wheel cylinders that leaked in 2 weeks on the same machine, the last set that leaked was a straw which snapped the camels back and took the axle seals with it causing gear oil to leak all over the new set of shoes. . Looking back, I had to restore the ones on the car. I disassembled the wheel cylinders and found…

Excellent for honing a bicycle frame head.

While it's for honing brake cylinders, I've used it to finish the head tube of a steel bike frame. This is for installing the headset and connector. Too much for what I needed, which was paint residue removal (and most likely some metal bits) but it's better than paying the ridiculous amount Park Tool charges for their admittedly good but excessive bike tool kit. The tool feels solid for what it is. It doesn't have instructions if I remember correctly, but the concept is pretty easy to grasp…

Pros
  • The best in its niche
