Good quality, take care of it and it will pay off for you.

I've been using this lapper for a while now and as long as you take care of the rubber it sticks well to the valve face. Don't use solvents on the rubber if you want it to last a long time. The small cup fits most modern car valves, although it's too big for some motorcycle valves I've come across.

Pros
  • Great price
Cons
  • Reliability

Good reliable basic tool

I have had manual valve lapping since I rebuilt my first engine in 1963. Remember that time is the enemy of this rubber; that means they don't last more than 3 or 4 years; But for the price, you can afford to throw them out and buy new ones every time you need them.

Pros
  • Good item
Cons
  • Sparse instructions

Made my life easier. This time for a different reason.

They are what they are and this isn't the first thing I've used. Good product and instead of using them for regular engine valves I needed a small diameter suction cup for a stemless valve in a custom pump. It did what it was supposed to do and when used on the motor like I had done before they worked great.

Pros
  • Doping ๐Ÿ”ฅ
Cons
  • Almost never

The suction continued to drop - everything else is fine

Worked great for intake valves but suction was completely useless for exhaust valves (MINI Cooper 2002-2006). end of the valve and slowly twist while gently pulling. This trick wouldn't work on intake valves due to backlash, but luckily the tool worked fine for intake valves.

Pros
  • A dream come true
Cons
  • Slightly dented

Great for Toyota valves

I used to buy a "regular" size valve lapping tool from an auto parts store to lap the valves in a Toyota Camry 5SFE engine. The smaller cup was too big and kept slipping off the valves. The large pot of this "small" lapping tool fits perfectly and almost never slips. With this I was able to quickly clean and grind the valves on a couple of cylinders.

Pros
  • Quality construction
Cons
  • Legacy model

Not exactly as advertised

Revain catalog says "Made in USA" on tools. There is no such marking on the tool, and there is no country of manufacture on the packaging. The listing also includes a "thick wooden handle". When I received and opened the package, I discovered that the handle was made out of some sort of composite polymer. I'm sure these two issues don't affect their use, but I think the list should be changed to reflect them. contacted Lyle and was told to keep the tooling centered during the shrink wrappingโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Perfect for outdoor activities
Cons
  • Some imperfections

No, I wouldn't recommend it to others

Layla should be ashamed to publish a tool that has problems. As others have pointed out, suction cups don't work very well. The valves were clean and when you attach the suction cup to the valve it holds about a quarter turn and then releases the handle. It looks like the suction cups are dry or hard so they can't hold a hold. Especially the little cup. All he had to do was 2 valves which he barely finished with great disappointment. Yes, we have experience with this 3rd party tool and thisโ€ฆ

Pros
  • GOLS certified
Cons
  • I have no negative feelings, it's ok
