Description of Lisle 75500 Combustion Leak Detector

Checks for combustion leaks caused by bad head gaskets, cracked blocks, and cracked or warped heads. Fluid changes from blue to yellow when exposed to combustion gases from the radiator. Great liquid - make your own tester.

Great product at a great price. You can actually make your own tester if you can find the materials that will provide the vacuum, and it doesn't have to be perfect. a rubber washer, some tubes from the hardware store, a plastic junk food cup and something to suck on. Just keep the test fluid container away from the coolant tank. This simple test fluid helped me decide whether to scrap the car or keep it and fix it - and the car was a keeper! Of course, I accidentally left the open liquid tester

Direct replacement for the original fluid from my kit (bought elsewhere)

Glad I found this on Revain. I haven't opened the bottle yet, but if it works as well as what came with my leak test kit (I expect it will as the bottles are identical) it will work like a charm and work for half the price. Order a replacement catalogue. Be sure to check your results. That said, if there is NO burn leak, judging by the lack of a color change, exhale into the tube and see if there is enough CO2 on your breath to turn the blue color greenish yellow. If not, then the chemical…

Can not recommend this product, but they are all similar. You add test fluid and then run a vacuum on the cooling system to remove gases and see if you have a clog or leak in your head. Simple in theory but there is a trackball in the bottom cone and on mine it won't land 25% of the time. I used a manual vacuum pump, and when a vacuum was not drawn, the test fluid occasionally entered the radiator due to a bad control ball. After 2 minutes I ran out of test liquid. The reason for this is that…
