so I hook it up to my lithium battery and check the connections. I got to the third balance wire and the board started smoking. It was a waste of money...

So far this hasn't balanced my cells. I make 10s2p batteries with brand new molitsel elements 21700 p42a and charge the battery after riding. It only disables charging when a cell reaches 4.2 volts. After a few cycles, some cells remain at 3.9 volts when the battery stops charging. Please make sure it works after a few cycles, otherwise it may damage the battery or cause a fire.

With this I revived the battery of the e-bike. I would like a wiring diagram. Not that it's hard, but my old fried e-bike BMS was wired differently than this BMS, so I couldn't just wire it up the way it was originally. I managed to google and figure it out, but really didn't want to guess when working with lithium batteries. Time will tell how long this BMS lasts, but so far I've spent 1.5 hours on it!

I would not trust this dangerous BMS. I plugged it in, everything worked fine on my electric skateboard. Then I turned everything off. Everything was fine, and the next day the skateboard doesn't turn on and the BMS only shows 20V instead of 40V. I removed and tested the BMS. I found that a component on the bottom of the board is blown, I assume it's a small MOSFET? This component should have burned out when I wasn't using the battery.
