Durable and strong Suitable for cookware

Bought this item to use to make tortillas in an induction oven. So far it's been great making a tortilla. On medium heat, the pan takes a little longer than the Futura utensil I used to cook the tortillas. With a strong fire, the cakes will burn. Made of cast iron, it's worth the wait and no harmful gases are produced during cooking. touch the handle. But I would also like to add this to the silicone grip, the grip is still hot to the touch. So be careful when choosing a hot cast iron skilletโ€ฆ

An Item You'll Leave in Your Will

As with any cast iron cookware, you need to be careful about what you buy from the start. I grew up in the 50's when almost everyone had cast iron chef's clothes and now that I no longer have a wife to complain about how heavy pots and pans are, I started buying things that I know better work than anything else I have. belonged to the past. It's the only thing you can rely on when it comes to cooking for the rest of your life and hopefully my kids will be taken care of for the rest of theirโ€ฆ

A worthy addition to any kitchen!

Finally found the courage to make the switch from nonstick to cast iron and this was my first purchase. In short, I'm very impressed with the difference! I use this pan primarily for making dosa (an Indian form of rice and lentil pancakes) and anyone who has experience with this dish can attest that they are tender and spoil easily. I initially had hiccups from food sticking to the pan but it gets better and better over time as promised. I updated the seasoning after the first (unsuccessful)โ€ฆ

My new favorite skillet - update

I've cooked with cast iron all my life but I've never held these pans in my hands! I'm in love! First, it is much lighter than my CI pans. It's much better for my arthritic hands. It was very flavorful straight out of the box so I could start baking cookies right away. It's so easy to clean. I just rinse it off with hot water, then gently clean it with a chain scraper and dry it very well with a paper towel. I have a glass hob and it works great on it. This is my new favorite kitchen tool. Byโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Beautiful packaging
Cons
  • Easy maintenance

First, I have several Lodge products including a 13" skillet and a 14" pizza pan. I love the pizza pan and have used it for everything from pizza to naan and other breads to roasted veggies etc. Never disappoints! A 13" pan is useful too, but it warps and doesn't sit flat on my glass cooktop, which is very annoying! I don't know when or how it happened. All of the foods from my cabin have a rough surface (I don't know if that's intentional?) and I found them difficult to season. Also, they allโ€ฆ

Perfect size and great quality

Needless to say, this is a cast iron skillet that cooks great scrambled eggs. On receipt I heated the pan and poured water in to bring it to a boil, once it was overcooked I turned off the heat and rubbed it with canola oil, not that it needed seasoning as Lodge makes it perfect at the factory . To make the eggs I used a tablespoon of butter after heating the pan on a glass stove top to high medium heat. I watched as the oil shimmered and began to cook evenly across the entire surface, and then
