If you connect it to the z230 sff this way it will not POST. If you change the pins, as one of the other reviews states, my power supply immediately turns off the over-current protection. There are 2 wires that are used to control the fan on the OEM PSU, but they are connected to the ground pins on the 24-pin connector, so every time the computer boots up, there will be a beep and you have to press F1 to do this confirm unit has no fan nutrition.

Note that this cable works as intended. only after I swapped the pinout of the white 6 pin connector. See the attached photo for the correct pinout (works on my HP Z230 SFF). Upon receipt, the wiring was flipped to the opposite side of the connector.

Works great I got some free computers from work and decided to turn them into cheap gaming PCs for my kids to use an ATX power supply. It was easy to install and now my kids have been eating their Roblox and Minecraft cars haha

You will need to solder the 6 pin connector yourself by moving the wires one by one so they fill the middle 4 pins and leave the 1st and 6th pins empty, but that can do the job . I give it a 5 because I bought it due to the faster shipping despite not being specifically designed for my PC.
