Well built for rowing and sailing

Very well built. The color is much lighter than in the picture and therefore does not match the existing teak. Maybe with age.

Pros
  • Hands free operation
Cons
  • Legacy

nice piece of wood

nice piece of wood. I plan on putting a few coats of varnish on it and incorporating it into the fiberglass companionway cover on my sailboat.

Pros
  • brings joy
Cons
  • some disadvantages

Beautiful teak insert with shutters.

The texture and color of the teak is not perfectly matched and the regularity of the holes is slightly off due to the blinds being made of thin slats, but to see this you have to be very close and in a very uncomfortable position. It comes sanded well, but I had to use 180 and 220 grit to get it to the point where it was ready for gloss varnish. Once installed, it perfectly replaces the previously worn metal grille.

Pros
  • One piece construction
Cons
  • Without machine
