I haven't used it because I bought it as a gift for someone. That is why there is no 5 stars as I can only rate the condition of arrival and the speed of delivery. Both the condition and the delivery time were excellent. If the recipient says it works great too, I'll try to remember to change the rating to 5 stars.

I've used this several times. Enough to know it doesn't work. Maybe if I was younger and had stronger hands, but it's hard to use. Better use a sharp knife. I like that when I hull the corn a whole grain comes out, but I've had a hard time using it. Also, the corn here was very oily, so it was difficult to put it in the holder for use.

It's pretty easy to get started, but when you have to start "pulling" it during a turn, that's the hard part. It needs a notched end cap so you can "push" it further instead of pulling it. And don't break the piston in half. This makes it significantly more difficult. They try to push and pull a wet piston. Slippery at best. NEED A PROCESS PLUG to help push through

Nice to have such a tool in the kitchen. We're not regular corn eaters, but when we do the only problem is peeling the corn and not wasting much of it, which is what most strippers do, or if you use a knife for that purpose. It is a good and practical tool for corn cleaning. It works with both raw and cooked corn. It may take a little time to figure out how to grip properly. After that, it's really easy to use. The steel body makes it easy to clean and will not rust.

At the end of the season I usually buy a few hundred years fresh corn and blanch and freeze it so we have great corn all winter. Finding a good corn stripper has always been a challenge. I've bought several and these along with the other one (background image on the right) are by far the best. The advantage of this is that stainless steel is very hard-wearing and lasts a long time.
