💡 Lumitec Touch Dome Lighting Review

I use this light as a cockpit light on my Island Packet 44 sailboat. In use for over 2 years. It works great! Red is great for nocturnal transitions.

Amazing light but be aware I ordered a blue/white dimmable unit and we received a red/white dimmable unit. This is one of 3 for the boat so we just used it elsewhere. The label on the barcode was blue and white, but on the front it was marked red and white. Installed under the electronics box, red is more suitable for night driving.

High price for poor technology. I paid a higher price because these lamps have a touch on/off/dim function. Come to find out, they turn on randomly and by themselves. When I spoke to Lumitec about this anomaly, they were confused and suggested adding a switch so they wouldn't turn on by themselves intermittently. Sorry POS! Installed on the bottom of the box with electronics. Looks great. After a few hours I noticed it was on so I went and turned it off. Looked out again and he came back. Contacted Lumitec, they said there has never been a problem with it. They sent another to replace him. I installed it only to find that the blue and white LEDs lit up at the same time. Would give it 5 stars but the wall switch no longer turns the light on, it needs to be turned on when the light is on. Not a deal breaker for me. This is a great quality product and works very well. I used it for a lantern in the stern of the boat. The good news is that it fits perfectly where the existing 6.75" bulb used to be, the screw holes and sizing are perfect.
