The tip of the headphone jack broke off in my 3 day old Fractal Design Define R6 USB-C, useless to close the headphone jack remove. the sleeve on the microphone connector came loose.

Didn't work. Only the audio worked, and the mic part/connector didn't produce anything. I may have gotten an error, but I won't try again anyway. Excuse me. I tried using this on multiple ports on my desktop, then switched to my laptop and tried it there as well. Played sound only. Ok, let's shop elsewhere.

This splitter works well with sound but doesn't pick up the mic well. After I started using this splitter, people couldn't hear me very well and I had to resort to the mic input on my webcam because at least that way they could hear what I was saying. I just bought a converter that converts a headphone jack to USB and the difference is day and night. I would not recommend that.

Works as a splitter but halves the microphone and headphone volume. I need all USB ports for other peripherals). I get signal from both headphones and microphone, but this greatly reduces the quality of both. They sound darker than when I use them with the USB adapter that came with them. I received this item as an inexpensive replacement for the original that came with my headphones and if the product continues to work as well as it has now I will keep it as a permanent replacement. The male ends are clearly marked, and the flat cable is a nice touch.
