Combs were brown not black. Depending on the type of comb, there were two different types in the package; brown with a glossy sheen and hardened plastic (the kind of plastic that seems to crack if used too hard), brown with a dull and darker appearance and softer plastic (they have blunt tips and ends and aren't good for fine details). ). It's still a handy comb set that gets the job done. It was a great buy for the price.
