It is difficult for me to hold and pick up pieces for the checkers part of the game. There are also some design flaws. If I used this correctly, I would have to create a bag to store the figures. To play checkers you need to find a place to put the extra checkers for the other two games and more.

Can't believe all the 5 star reviews. Measurements refer to box size, not board size. Board size 8 inches. She's really tiny. Lady size 5/8. Magnets 1/4 inch. Chess pieces are 7/8-1.5 inches. Playing cards weren't important to me, but they're very thin paper. I'm surprised the magnets hold and that's why I'm keeping them.

So my nephew has just started learning to play and I wanted to give him a nice board to use while he learns. Judging by the photos, this is an ordinary pitch. Maybe it's written somewhere, but I wasn't expecting a mini chessboard with tiny pieces! Even dominoes are so tiny and poorly made little wooden rectangles. Very disappointed.

Cheaply produced parts were packed in non-lockable bags which meant they got lost after first use, especially when travelling! I've added a couple of zippered sandwich bags labeled with the number of pieces to be inserted. The box is too small to hold all the parts after opening their packaging! With a little more effort, this could be a worthy gift.

Well, not so small. It's a pretty decent size. Big enough to play chess, checkers or backgammon. The magnetic aspect makes it so portable. That's incredible. Turbulence on the plane? The chess pieces laugh and stay where they are. Restless car ride? The only thing that moves is you. Parts stay where they can. So if you lose and try to blame the driver, it's your fault. No moving parts.

All the play pieces were in place when we turned the board over which means the magnets are quite strong. I liked that the color of the stones is red and black, but there are more stones than you need to play checkers. Maybe some of them are spare parts or you need them for other games. Our 9 year old boy loved it and is obsessed with it. He takes him to school every day to play with his friends. His friends also liked him very much.

This game board is good for travel but I wouldn't buy it for home use as it is so small. The magnets work fine but I believe there were some extra magnets or magnets that fell off the stones. The magnets are strong enough not to move in the car. The parts are plastic and relatively low quality, but affordable.
