High-Performance MAHLE MS16340 Gasket: Engine Seal for Maximum Efficiency Review

I've been trying to find differences (for better or worse) in these pads from the originals. The only difference I could tell was the "MAHLE" embossing. The functional part of the seal feels and looks just like the original so I have no doubt they will last just as long.

This is a great seal! Perfect fit for my 2005 Silverado 1500 2wd! Very heavy duty and the gaskets are quite thick so you know you're getting a tight seal. A throttle body gasket was also included. A brand new fuel injector gasket (the end that connects to the fuel rail) and some other gaskets I didn't need. But still what value for money.

The superior quality you expect from a Mahle brand. Very well made and made in the USA as an added bonus. If you don't want to buy GM factory seals, I think that's the only option. Most other aftermarket seals use red/orange rubber, which isn't great, and GM had a service bulletin updated to the green/turquoise that Mahle uses.

The hole on the last screw was totally distorted due to a casting error. I had to take the nasty old OE, clean it and put it back in place with crossed thumbs to keep it from leaking because I needed to get the machine up and running asap. I spent at least 2 extra hours on this job because I had zipped everything up and the screw didn't catch the threads and I had to pull the manifold again only to find that it was deformed. They were easy to install as they snap onto the intake manifold. Out of habit I checked the port alignment (to make sure a port match was needed. They matched the ports perfectly on both the cylinder head and the manifold.
