Marathon 60 Minute Mechanical Wind-Up Timer: Reliable, Loud Ringing Black Timer with Solid Mechanical Movement Review

Returned item. The alarm clock didn't ring all the time. Sometimes it rang a little, and other times all you could hear was a faint "ding". There were times when he didn't call at all. Or it rings, but there is still time.

This is a timer. A moving part. Turn it clockwise to 60 and then back to the desired number of minutes. One less crappy digital thing with a non-Tanium battery than my van. I haven't tested its accuracy (it's close), but with an RV oven that's plus/minus 50 degrees, who cares?

Set it up a few times and it won't ring by itself or when the timer's up. It "rings" when I turn it on myself. I looked closely and noticed that the seam where the front and back joined the bottom of the timer was not properly sealed. Maybe it has something to do with that.

Nice, light and thin timer. My only complaint is that the alarm goes off about a minute early and then ticks for about 30 seconds. I think it's good if you want some time in advance. The ticker is also pretty quiet, which I appreciate.

After reading previous reviews I knew I had to turn the dial past 60 and then back to the desired time. So far this has worked great. At first a long phone call seemed excessive, I was used to timers that only rang once and then fell silent. However, it can be easy to miss a ring, but this one is the one you'll want to stop at because it's loud! It's good too.

A few weeks ago I received a new stove, which turned out to be black. I just needed a new timer and of course I checked out Revane. When I saw this black one I knew I would order it. I've only used it a few times so can't comment on durability but so far so good. I really like how loud it turns off. Looks great next to my new stove.

What else can be said that isn't in the title of the review? Just make sure you turn it back on after 60 minutes as that will ring the bell. (I will say this type seems hard to find in local stores as everything is electronic. But when I used the digital in the camper I got fed up with either the batteries dying or it just dying (due to constant street). tremble.)

I only wanted this for one purpose. I'm a writer and when I write I forget everything else about the creative world. So when I use my stove, I keep forgetting I'm cooking! So now I have a timer next to my computer and I can set it while cooking so the fire alarm doesn't go off! Weird, I know, but I feel uncomfortable without a timer. The shipping was great, the packaging was good, the instructions are ok, the alarm is loud enough and lasts long enough. This was perfectly fine for my timer…
