I love my son - Sport watch

I love my son. But it's HEAVY on the clock. He plays sports, is very active and because of this they break easily. This has been going on for almost 6 months and is still going on. Personal record for him. He loves to. He's 13, so the "kids" watch is too small, and the "gents" watch is stinky and huge. It's perfect.

Pros
  • Free for educational purposes
Cons
  • There are disadvantages

Approximately started fogging the watch inside.

The inside of the watch started to fog up after about 6 months. The bracelet broke at 8 months. There are no interchangeable straps. This is the sixth Timex marathon I've bought and ALL have had their straps snapped in less than a year. But of course the warranty does not cover straps. Buyer Warning.

Good basic watch for a child or person with a small wrist

Bought for my son (10 years) and fits perfectly; He loves to. We had to do a bit of Googling to find instructions on how to set it up, but he figured it out and it was probably good practice for him. He went hiking and swimming with him, no problem. They also tell the time well, so there are no problems with that. I had to replace it when we lost the metal pin on the buckle when he was rowdy in the water, but he played really hard so I won't blame the watch. . For the money this is a great…

Nice watch but difficult to set

Nice watch but difficult to set time and date/year. Instructions on the Timex website in .pdf format and in fine print. I zoomed in to read, but it's poorly written and there's no chart. I was finally able to set the time. But I still haven't figured out how to set the date. I have basic skills for setting up laptops, wifi and printers but I don't know how to set the date on this watch. LAUGH OUT LOUD. Really deprecated for Timexnot to provide updated/updated information for easier to read and…

Great but with one problem

This watch is pretty much what I wanted and expected. I am giving Timex one star because THEY DO NOT include INSTRUCTIONS for this watch! There are guides online, but there are a million Marathon models out there and I couldn't find one that fits just this one. As a result, I can't turn on the hourly chime and I can't figure out how to get it out of the 24-hour time mode, which I kind of got into while messing around with the bell. Like I'm back in the Navy: 10:07 PM? let me rest Including…

Good basic sport watch for a kid or woman (NOT for big men)

I bought this blue/black watch for my 8 year old son and he is very happy with it. It's not a fashion watch, but it lives up to the expectations and has withstood his rugged lifestyle so far. He hasn't lost it either after owning it for several months. You don't know my kid, but that's saying something. I take this as proof that he really loves and appreciates it! As for the size, I would say that it is perfectly suitable for a large child or woman. Most likely, it will not suit a grown man…

Would you like a more independent child?

This watch has done wonders for my son's maturity and self esteem. He proves his technical acumen by setting alarms, even when he has to go to the school nurse to get medicine. He can shower, which allows me to go from constant worry to greater peace of mind. He can walk alone because he is always aware of the time. Even homework was easier to do. Maybe it's just part of the changes happening in fourth grade and it's not a miracle watch. To be honest I don't care who gets the credit, I'm just…

Not the best choice for clothing

I've bought four of these watches for my kids in the last two years and none of them have lasted. I know you get what you pay for but this watch was great in the 1990s-2000s so I bought this for my kids for Christmas 2017. They liked them, but both watches soaked up water in the first six months. One watch stopped working so I bought a new one in 2018 - a different color (which had a slightly different dial) and another one died just before Christmas so I bought a second replacement in December

Beware! Timex is not the same anymore!

This watch has lasted just over a year, slightly longer than the warranty period of course. The strap broke with normal use. We've bought several Timex watches for our 6 kids over the last 20 years and found that they all share the same trait: they last a year but the strap breaks or the watch stops working once the warranty runs out. We always get stuck when buying new watches because the replacement part costs as much or more than a new one. I've read that companies test and re-test their…
