I decided to try this product despite the few reviews and I have no regrets. This scalp massager/brush does exactly what it's supposed to do, the bristles are long and thin so they penetrate the scalp even if you have thick hair like my husband and I. I have often found that all other massagers are silicone and the bristles are wide so you don't get that "scratchy" feeling you are craving! You get 2 massagers which is a plus. Edit: I also use it to detangle my hair, it doesn't hurt at all :)

This product is great! I have very thick, wavy hair. Most scalp massagers have trouble reaching my scalp. I usually only get to the hairline. But because this product has very long bristles, it reaches my scalp easily and I can run it from my hairline to the back of my head. My scalp feels cleaner when shampooing after using it. This is a wonderful find! Highly recommended if you have very thick hair.

These brushes are NOT made of soft, flexible silicone like many scalp brushes. They are firm, unyielding and just what I was looking for! They mimic the hard scratch pressure I prefer when shampooing. With arthritis hurting my fingers, I missed feeling my scalp/follicles were getting the attention they needed to improve circulation and cleansing.

I don't have curly hair but I have very thick straight hair. I hated how short the teeth on other scalp brushes were, but they are long enough that I can continuously clean my scalp without creating a huge tangle. The teeth are flexible and I don't feel like they are sharp. (If you have a sensitive scalp I wouldn't recommend it because I've seen those teeth get too sharp or rough.)
