Description of πŸ”’ Superior King Pin Lock with BumpStop Technology - 387NKA, Ideal for Toy Haulers/Trailers

Secures the king pin of semi-trailers, RV's, and other fifth wheel trailers. Solid, cast aluminum alloy withstands physical attacks. Featuring the BumpStop technology. For explanation view SEE MORE PRODUCT DETAILS below. Available Keyed Alike for your entire fleet. ATTENTION: If you order two 1-packs they will NOT necessarily be keyed the same. To ensure you get two 1-packs keyed alike, you must order the 2-pack. Lock, protected by the housing, resists common physical attacks: 1) Shackle cannot be cut. 2) Hardened steel bottom plate resists drill attacks. 3) Rivets are countersunk making chisel attempts fruitless. The bright red finish and red flag makes it visible to the driver from a distance. Handle makes it easy to carry.

Good strong castle, but.

This locking system has proven to be of very high quality and reliable. Warning: If your kingpin requires a catcher then this lock may not be for you as it is not suitable for the collar due to the locking mechanism on the catcher. I had to send mine back and then received a BS restocking fee. Lost $$ for something NOT listed in the product description upon purchase.

Pros
  • Available with the same key for your entire fleet. NOTE: If you order two 1-packs, they do NOT necessarily have the same key. To ensure you receive two 1-packs of the same keys, you must order a 2-pack.
Cons
  • Suitable for

I never thought people would try to steal my parents' van. I looked at several fifth wheels. I could break many of them. They weren't very reliable. You get what you pay for. I think if you plan on keeping your campervan this should be the cheapest lock you should buy. They cost around $100. The nice thing is that if the lock ever gets rusty, you can have your local locksmith replace it with a new, heavy-duty lock.

Pros
  • With BumpStop technology. See MORE PRODUCT DETAILS below for explanations.
Cons
  • No

Works with Turning Point Kingpin Box Wedge

My pinbox has a rear pivot and is keyed to the hitch so it can rotate. Because of this wedge, conical locks will not work. I then researched this type of lock, which is essentially a large cylinder with a kingpin inside. There are cheaper versions of this type, but they're not well rated and some people say they break when hit with a tow hitch. This lock won't do that. It is durable, has a carrying handle and is easy to use. It also works with pinboxes that rotate, like my Lippert turning…

Pros
  • Secures the kingpin of trailers, RVs and other trailers with saddles. Durable cast aluminum alloy withstands physical abuse.
Cons
  • Not bad
