Great lock for a warehouse but not suitable for a moving truck!

No complaints about the lock itself. The cylinder is great, turns easily, is really strong and durable. The only problem is that it doesn't fit on a moving truck. The opening is too small. I had to buy a new lock. But if you're getting this for a storage unit, this is a great choice!

Pros
  • Lock body 2-3/4" wide (70mm); shackle 3/8" (10mm) in diameter, 5/8" (16mm) long and 1-1/32" (28mm) wide
Cons
  • Some flaws

2 broken locks and their number

The replacement lock sent by Revain (I must say promptly) wasn't broken either (none of the keys open the lock) but it seems being the one previously returned by another buyer as the keys were taped in place just like the ones I originally returned. Master Lock's credibility has certainly taken a hit, only surpassed by the blow dealt by Revain for redistributing faulty goods.

Pros
  • Includes a padlock, two keys
Cons
  • Not bad but...

Good looking, very hard to open, idiot keys

This lock was purchased to secure the cable ducts in the bed of a truck with a cable. The other day I had to move the kennel and it took me 10 minutes to remove the lock. He's only a month old. The keys are very small with a staggered design and sharp edges, making them potentially the worst keys to have when the lock won't pick. It eventually opened up and I've sprayed it with WD-40 ever since. Hopefully this will make it easier to open or it will end up in the trash.

Pros
  • Octagonal tough cut boron carbide shackle keylock that is 50% stronger than hardened steel; Shrouded design minimizes shackle exposure and protects against bolt cutter hits
Cons
  • Long Lead Time

Not very strong: Keyed padlocks

This type of lock was recommended for my safe. I kept it there less than a month, it rained a little but the little lid fell on the keyhole and I thought everything was fine. I've only gone in and unlocked a few times. I recently found that there was water in it so rusty nasty water was leaking out of it and a broken little gold seal/O-ring came loose inside preventing it from moving. I had to leave my storage unit unlocked to go to the store and buy another brand, hopefully it will last more…

Pros
  • Four-pin cylinder for maximum protection against burglary; reinforced scratch protection
Cons
  • Expensive
