This is not the astroturf-like dog poop on the underside of your trunk mat that you are looking for. It's flexible, not stiff at all, for both the base and the "blades" of the artificial grass, which just lie flat and can't be expected to pick dirt off the shoe. However, I held it for too long. I finally found many rugs I wanted at the orange Big Box Store (online only), bigger, stronger and at a great price of 2 for $20.

I bought this to line the bottom of a display case under a pair of signed football boots and a signed helmet. Looks good but makes a complete mess when trying to trim it to fit the exact shape needed to line up the bottom of the display case. I cut about an inch off one side to fit and small bits of green grass fell all over the place. It was a disaster! Had I known it would almost fall apart when cut, I would have used a different type or brand.

I am very disappointed in the quality of this grass mat. It arrived in a beautiful box folded into a pretty green grass rug. This grass mat is very thin, with a thin anti-slip coating on the back, but it's not safe to use as a doormat where people wipe their shoes. It would definitely get thicker.
