Perfect replica, had to add foam to the helmet to make it easier to wear and better fit my head. Use the foam in the package to make it work. I can end up cutting the skin out of the purse to surround the foam. Perfect for the price, now I'm a Norman soldier.

The helmet is tough and tough. I'm not going to use this to fight HEMA, I'm not sure if he can handle it. As said, the nose guard is quite sharp but you can see it in the picture so be careful not to scratch your face when putting it on.

Not only is the design solid, it has more features than shown/listed. There's a leather lining and an adjustable chin strap, making it a lot more comfortable and sturdy than usual. Even with a balaclava, it's very tall and definitely made for wearing chain mail and a beanie on your head.

Well made and good looking. Use for movie costume props. Inside is a built-in liner. The glue used was wrong - quickly separated from the steel but for the price buy a helmet and fix it. Use superglue to fix leather to steel - Loctite Super Glue Gel is considered best. Clamping with spring clamps. Easy to fix.

My son's presentation on William the Conqueror was a huge success. I also bought a hat to wear underneath to protect your head, but it didn't fit. I think anything with a lot of padding would make it too tight for a teenager or a man. However, I love the authenticity of this helmet! We ended up with a hooded suit that he wore underneath. This helmet meets and exceeds all of my expectations. I was expecting a thin suit helmet that I only get to wear a couple of times before it becomes a part. However, this helmet is made from heavy gauge steel and comes with a very nice leather lining and chin strap. It goes well with a hat but is a little tight when paired with my mail. The only comment I have is that the nose is made of thin steel that flexes easily. All in all it was a great deal at only $40!

Looks good on the shelf, not so good on the head. The balaclava strap is thin, faux leather, poorly attached (glued) and comes loose the first time you put it on. hot glue back. The rivets are not fully processed and may rub against the head and cause minor scratches/pain. The steel components that make up the crown and band are not actually separate pieces but are butt welded to the band and then ground to hide the weld.
