This is good for professionals; Read if you can't get to 30A

I have a custom power company. Consequently, I have many random projects that need 12V power supplies for my internal tests, such as water cooling, fans, relay drivers, internal power supplies. I have a few of these and am very happy BUT this unit cannot jump to say 30A or exceed it (it does not go into current control mode, it just shuts down). So to control large fans (e.g. 2x14A fans) I need to put inrush current limiters in series and then the device will work fine. Again, this depends on…

Cons
  • Low repairability

A false promise.

This was one of several Chinese made power supplies that I have purchased. ALL have the same problem, they are rated for a total current of 30 amps, what they don't tell you is that it is based on 3 circuits of 10 amps each. Tried this power supply with a medium power ham radio and the circuit tripped. The radio requires 15 amps, the display claims 30 amps of power, not 3 legs at 10 amps. For low power radios it works fine, for medium and higher power radios it doesn't work. The description…

Does exactly what I need and at a very reasonable price

I have bought several 12V DC power supplies like this one for use in large arrays of LED lamps. Since most inexpensive DC power supplies have a maximum current of 4 or 5 amps, powering large LED arrays such as coffered ceilings will require either multiple adapters or a larger power supply like this one. Expressed in amperes/dollars, this type of power supply is definitely more economical, but of course requires a little more attention in terms of installation location and you have to be…

Fixes with 8 x 32 screws

I will be using this power as a ham radio transmitter that draws up to 20A when transmitting. At the moment it seems perfect for the job and very light. One spec missing from the Revain description is the mounting hole threads (four on the bottom, two on each side): 8 x 32. The bottom holes have very little clearance from the PCB so be very careful when choosing to use them. I decided to use the side holes and a couple of aluminum corners (photo shown). Update: My Yaesu FT-840 works without…

The power supply failed 2 days after the return period had expired.

This PS worked perfectly, the fan would cycle on and off, but the unit was always emitting a faint burning smell. However it eventually died and now turns on for a few seconds (no load) and is now useless. Menzo says in the product description "GUARANTEE: If you have any problems, please feel free to contact us, we offer you guaranteed satisfaction", but I can't find any other way to contact Menzo than in this review. If they find a solution I will update this review. At the moment I cannot…

Excellent stock. Quiet, clean and meets my needs.

In my application, this is connected to a deep cycle gel battery that powers the car audio equipment on the workbench. The open load is regulated from about 11 to 15V (I set it to 13.5V in my application). It consumes around 4.5 watts per wattmeter when idling. It has a fairly clean output that a battery connected in parallel absorbs all AC ripple. As far as I can tell the measured AC ripple is about 8.5mV. The fan only turns on when the device is loaded and is temperature dependent, not…

So far, so good! Excellent value for money for a 30A socket.

Some other reviewers mentioned that some of the 10 and 20 amp versions were DOA so I tested mine right away! It worked fine as soon as I connected it. I've been running non-stop at 9.5 amps for about an hour now and the unit doesn't even get hot! The fan hasn't turned on yet, but that's okay since the temperature of the whole thing is just above room temperature. I'll be sure to let you know if the device fails in the near future. Incidentally, a short voltage test with load yielded the…

Great power supply for a 3D printer!

I bought this power supply for my 3D printer, printed out a box attached to the block with power, voltmeter, voltmeter, power connector fuse. I recommend it to anyone who needs such a power supply. Such power supplies should be used below 80% of the maximum current to get the most out of it. Seems like too many people not liking it are overloading the device. It was a very stable power supply and extremely reliable. I keep mine around 12.23V DC.

Very bad power supply

The power supply can withstand 25A DC. The problem is related to voltage stability. Under load, the voltage rises by almost 2 volts and falls, only to then drop by 2 volts. This device does not supply stable voltage. I tried using this for radios but it rendered the radio almost unusable due to radio interference from that unit. Do not use this on sensitive equipment or amateur radio equipment. The display on the radio speaks for itself, the waterfall shows the peaks from this power supply. If…
