We bought this large bag for our two cats because they love it and it was good value for the size. However, our vet subsequently advised us that the sodium levels were too high, especially for older cats (we have one). When I tried to donate the rest of the bag to our local animal shelter, they wouldn't accept it, citing the same concerns about the high sodium content. My cats farted horribly on this food. For example, clear a room of farts. I don't know if you've had a cat with gas before, but it's like having mustard gas near your face. You can't breathe or see, and you feel like crying. Imagine a dog fart, concentrated at 1% of its volume, with 200% of its force, released within 6 inches of your nose when your cat tries to snuggle up to you in bed. We switched to Purina Indoor Formula and haven't had any issues since.

Not the best for cats but contains important essential nutrients and beats many cheaper foods. Being disabled I had to choose a cheaper food alternative for my cat and it was definitely a good purchase. He likes the taste compared to many, seems to be staying healthy and doesn't get upset. The downside is that the ingredients aren't always what's best for him and you definitely need to practice portion control for the exact amount or your cat will get fat (this happened to a friend's cat).

This is by far my favorite food for cats when they are fed dry food. With a boy it's important to limit his kibble which means I have to limit my girls too as they all eat together.
