🔊 12GA 250-Feet Clear Speaker Wire by Metra Review

Can't be beat for the price. Finally, I mean it's speaker wire only, and it's hard to justify using 12 AWG wire when you have to pay a tidy sum. I'm only giving it 4 stars because, like some other reviews, my reel didn't have a continuous barrel but actually contained two lengths, one about 100ft and the other about 150ft. Since my setup consisted of many small runs, this wasn't a big issue, but is considered a minor issue.

Nothing to say, it's a speaker cable. The jacket is nice and thick, it does not tear easily. I ended up using a 10 ga stripper to remove the ends of the jacket without losing too many strands. I think using the 12ga setting could cut a lot of strands. Not bad, not at all. Enough to run a 7 speaker system in a room about 15ft by 12ft, the cables are routed to be more or less invisible. I have many more if I need them to tune the car in the future. =

Man, that's good stuff! The extra thick outer coating offers excellent wire protection and easy pulling. The coating is so thick I figured I might have accidentally gotten 10GA. The wire has markings on each foot for finer control of usage. The spool is of good quality and holds the wire well. It was effectively packaged, simple yet impressive. .6 I'll regularly buy more from another source if such a simplistic thought was implied in it. I would definitely buy more of these if needed.

I do not want to spray any product. This one is no exception. What could be a minus for me may be a plus for someone else. Here are the facts (as unbiased as I can get them): The jacket is transparent and flexible, with a clear clear blue polarity stripe on one side. Easy to see, clean and consistent. Separating the "legs" was a bit more difficult than other cables I've used. This can actually be a nice feature if you're worried about over-splitting. The measurement is probably accurate, but…
