I ended up not using them because they are too small for my microwave. The microwave is actually too big for the space, so stay on the counter for now. The brackets are strong enough for a microwave if you screw them into the studs. They're not exactly 90 degrees, which is a little clumsy, but I suppose they hold the microwave in place better. Mounts claim to hold up to 100 pounds, generally not even 30 pounds. Dad installed the brackets per the instructions to secure our LG microwave, the next day it fell over due to the brakes breaking.
