This fender has a serious design flaw - it has small gaps that are very difficult to clean. Surfaces that are near food are likely to get dirty and should be smooth for easy cleaning. It's the opposite of that. The indentations that form the finger grips on the top create small narrow gaps on the food side. Also, it has only been used a few months and has already started to tear.

I'm giving four stars instead of five because this coating doesn't stick to the top of all microwaves! If you have a recessed microwave, the lid will not stick to the top of your microwave. You must have a flat roof microwave for the lid to stick! If so, you are very lucky because this is a very cool product and I love it for the salon microwave. Not suitable for my oven.

Love this microwave splatter guard. It's simple yet effective, fits regular sized plates, is easy to grip, and is easy and convenient to store in the microwave when not in use. The magnets are strong and easy to clean. What else do you need? Admittedly this partially covers the vents on my Maytag microwave (see photo) but I knew it might be possible when I bought it so can't complain too much. Basically I'm satisfied!

Super handy, very useful piece of plastic. We have used take out container lids but they are too small and should sit right on top of the food. This lid sits over food and fully covers regular sized plates. The magnets are just for easy storage of the lid when not in use. I've seen horrible pictures of people trying to leave the lid on the microwave ceiling while using the mic, but the lid has to be removed when not in use! I wish there weren't finger dents because they're hard to wipe off.

Good microwave coverage. BUT. Make sure the inside surface (roof?) of your microwave oven is level. I didn't look in my microwave before I bought it. If I did, I'd probably find that the inside of my microwave isn't flat (it has one of those indentations to fit larger items). and since it's not flat, the magnets on the microwave lid are useless. I still have the shell. Not worth sending back. and i can still use it. But I can't keep it in the microwave because it's supposed to be used with…

EDIT: The company read or wrote the original review (below) within 1 day and immediately and automatically sent a replacement. It is designed for a month and 5 rinse cycles in the dishwasher. Overall, this is a great concept that anyone with a microwave should own. A task completed 1% faster every day will result in the same task completed 38 times faster in a year! Harness the magic of blending and streamline your kitchen activities, only move this lid 15cm at a time and if you really have to!
