This is an excellent reliable weather radio. I would give 5 stars if I could only choose real tornado warnings. I don't want to be woken up by a tornado, but I do want to be woken up when there's a more serious warning that means take cover. The weather radio is great! It took a little while to fully set up the district codes and choose which alerts I want to enable. It wasn't difficult, but they sent you to the NOAA website several times for codes. I was able to disable codes like flash flood warning etc which don't apply as I live on a hill. You can read everything you need in other reviews. That's my complaint. NO OFF BUTTON unless you take out the batteries! Fear causes some people to go into cardiac arrest! Customize the radio for my state and county with default alerts and alert indicator type. My area had a flash flood warning on July 5th. The red warning light on the radio was flashing but the warning message was not scrolling on the display.
