Good basic filter, best in manual filters

This is not a HEPA filter but it does filter odors. I don't see a huge difference, but it might help a little. I am a dog owner and after cleaning the dog hair the vacuum cleaner smells when you run it. I used to have a Hepa filter and that didn't save me from the smell either.

Pros
  • glitter
Cons
  • slightly wrinkled

I didn't think I had to change the filter

I don't know why I waited 2 years but I finally changed it and it sucks in a good way. I will probably replace annually or maybe every 6 months. The filter was OEM Miele, I find it overpriced but worth it to save time vacuuming.

Pros
  • Few competitors
Cons
  • Some flaws

Fits my vacuum but is not a true replacement for

Fits my vacuum but is not a true HEPA filter. As you know, HEPAs are made from folded paper. It was black plastic with holes. The interior turned out to be layers of different media types. If possible, next time I will buy direct from MFG. Wouldn't recommend it.

Pros
  • Stylish and modern design
Cons
  • Something is wrong

NOT HEPA, but has almost the same name

There are no reviews for this filter. I give Miele 1 star for the terrible product name. I wanted a HEPA filter but it's not. The HEPA filter is called "Air Clean 30 SF-HA 30". This (meaningless in my opinion) filter is called "Air Clean 30 SF-AA 30". Idiot work, Miele. Now I wasted a week waiting for the wrong filter.

Pros
  • Beautiful
Cons
  • New competitors have appeared

No HEPA filter! via handheld filter

This is an OEM product, NOT a HEPA filter! The journey from England also took a long time. What really pissed me off was that I could buy real HEPA for about $3 more. A lesson for those of us looking for a "deal". LAUGH OUT LOUD. By the way, MIELE has to improve this little test strip because it really sucks! A small LED might help to change from green to red (or from new to used)

Pros
  • Best in its niche
Cons
  • Will be added later

After a year with Miele, I got a doggie smell every time I vacuumed. I was changing bags and smaller filters all the time, but it didn't matter. Then I found that while the sticker on this type of filter in my vacuum didn't indicate it needed to be replaced, it was likely the source of the odor. It was. As soon as I changed it, the dog smell (we have several large breed dogs) disappeared. Easy to change and makes the air smell much better!

Pros
  • Few competitors
Cons
  • Unreliable

Doesn't help with odor

Every time I use a Miele cylinder vacuum there is a strange sour smell in the air. After reading various filter reviews, I realized that the smell was probably related to vacuuming dog hair, so I bought these filters even though they were significantly more expensive than normal non-carbon filters. When I first used this filter there was no smell at all which was great. But since then the foul smell has returned every time. My dog doesn't shed much so I don't know why the vacuum exhaust smellsโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Durable finish
Cons
  • Damaged
