Description of FM135 Single Button Black Gate Opener Remote by Mighty Mule

The Single-Button Gate Opener Remote is a great accessory for a replacement or for an additional user to compliment your Mighty Mule Automatic Gate Opener. Easy DIY (Do It Yourself) programming for your Mighty Mule Automatic Gate system. Mighty Mule also offers the 2-button gate opener remote (FM134) and the 3-button remote (RB743) for easy use with a second Gate Operator or garage door. Garage door openers require the Universal Receiver (RB709U-NB). NOTE: If the dip switch sequence is not matched up to the operator / other transmitter, the transmitter will not send the correct signal.

Dead battery on hardware

Great remote control for my Mighty Mule FM350 gate opener. I've bought several over the years and none have disappointed me so the quality is good. The problem with this purchase is that the battery was dead on arrival so I had to buy a battery, these 12v types aren't cheap so this purchase was just worthless. Roll the dice, hope you get one with a good battery. Just FYI these remotes cannot have different PIN codes for each remote, you must set all your remotes to the same pin (dip switch)…

I don't like that the button isn't recessed

I don't like that the button isn't recessed. For example, putting it in your pocket or putting anything on it will destroy the battery. That happened to us. My wife put it in the slot under her stereo and we were locked outside our gates. So I bought her a Firefly 318 for her keychain and everything was fine. Your visors are too thick to attach this opener. So if you're driving a newer car with vanity mirrors in the sun visors (that's what makes the visors so thick), then you might want to…

Perfect replacement/additional remote control

I needed a second remote for our gate as my work SUV doesn't have Homelink. I ordered on a Sunday evening and it arrived in less than 18 hours (impressive as we live on a rural farm). To set it up, I took the original remote that I keep next to ours, opened both up (two small Phillips screws) and set the DIP switches on the new remote to match the switches on the original remote. That's all. Works perfectly. I could save $10 if I went for an unbranded remote, but I've had good service with the…

Pros
  • Great value for money
Cons
  • Not as bulky as other options

We bought two single button transmitters. The first works fine. The second not. The instructions require me to call the Mighty Mule at a specific number. The entry will be answered by Nortex. This company owns Mighty Mule. You need to look at several options; none of them is a guarantee. It's support, that's fine. But the record says they have an unusual ring volume and suggests they call back later. I put my phone on speakerphone. Much, much later - still no answer. I called during the day…

Pros
  • High marks for support and durability from testers
Cons
  • Damaged

Has sat in the garden for over 6 months

I strapped my Mighty Mule Remote Control Gate Opener to my belt as the weeds were eating the lawn, the clip broke and I lost the remote. could never find. More than 6 months later I found him lying in the garden. This was just after a severe winter storm here in Texas in February 2021. When I found them, the ground had thawed and the remote had been buried under 5 inches of snow and ice for over a week. time was below zero, up to 7 degrees. brought home, disassembled and let dry, battery…
