Description of ๐Ÿ“ถ Mikrotik 2.4GHz Dual-Chain PoE Ceiling Access Point cAP-2nD RouterBOARD

RouterBOARD cAP-2nD (ceiling Access Point) is our first 2.4GHz Dual-Chain ceiling AP. Inconspicuously designed, it blends into the environment, perfect for hospitality business like hotels, airports, shopping malls etc. cAP-2nD supports 802.11b/g/n and can be powered by PoE. Itโ€™s a perfect companion for the MikroTik CAPsMAN (controlled AP system manager), allowing you to control all your AP devices from one central location. Unlike traditional controller software, which requires a separate PC/Mac to run, our CAPsMAN runs on any existing RouterBOARD device in your network. Everything is included to get you started, wall/ceiling mount, PoE injector, power adapter and even the screws and screw anchors.

Efficient Wireless Access Point for Computers

This wireless access point is a reliable and efficient choice for anyone looking for a seamless internet connection. The dual chain feature provides strong and consistent signals, even across large areas. The ceiling-mounted design is unobtrusive and adds to the aesthetic value. However, the setup process can be complex for those unfamiliar with networking products. Overall, this is a great investment for anyone in need of reliable and high-speed internet connectivity.

Pros
  • Easy to mount on a ceiling and provides strong and stable wireless coverage.
Cons
  • Not suitable for use in large commercial spaces due to limited coverage range.

Decent hotspot

Installed in a bar for a network I manage. This works well if you don't need anything fancy like 5G. It has been running continuously for almost 4 months now. Can use multiple SSIDs if you need separate networks or VLANs. I only had to restart it once for a software update. The signal covers the entire interior of the room. It's dirty outside, but that's to be expected. It was pretty easy to set up with CAPsMAN. Runs the full version of RouterOS. It's not plug and play. You really need to knowโ€ฆ
