MIU France Battery Powered Salt Grinder: Effortless Grinding in Sleek Black Design Review

The plastic part that turns the gears on this salt shaker broke on the second use. In the attached documents it was referred to as a pepper mill. Perhaps peppercorns are easier to crush than salt crystals, but this was a huge disappointment. I can't find the shipping documents, now they're in the trash.

I bought a salt and pepper grinder (each unique) after reading reviews from other Revain customers. They rated MIU as the best and I totally agree! These mills start working at a tilt angle of just over 90 degrees. No mess on the table, as is the case with push-button coffee grinders. These devices place the spice exactly where you want it, in exactly the amount you want, and as fine or steep as you want. Great product at a great price. I'm buying two more for my kitchen.

The name speaks for itself. I was hoping to get a lot more salt out of it and having to hold the grinder upside down over food for so long is a little disappointing. I tried "opening" it fully but that didn't seem to help much. This is my negative conclusion - now to what I liked. Very well made and quite durable. I threw it off the spice rack where my wife put it (grrrr) and it fell 6 feet to the Formica floor. No damage - works great. The plastic is very thick and durable. I think the 4 stars

I was skeptical about ordering a battery powered salt shaker, fearing it would be "cheap" due to the price. I usually buy fine grain sea salt, but accidentally bought whole sea salt. The pepper mill worked perfectly, but the salt mill had a faulty switch that required tapping something to turn the motor on. I have sent it back for an exchange and will report when I get a new one.
